About the community

Letters to the person you're becoming

Dear Future Me is a community built around one radical act: writing an honest letter to yourself, sealing it, and trusting that the person who opens it will be grateful you did.

How it started

One letter changed everything

In 2019, our founder Sarah wrote a letter to herself during the hardest year of her life. She sealed it, set a reminder for twelve months later, and forgot about it.

When she opened it, she wept — not from sadness, but from recognition. The person who wrote that letter had been so afraid. The person reading it had survived, grown, and become someone she was proud of.

She shared the practice with friends. Then strangers. Then thousands of people across the world who needed the same reminder: you are becoming someone worth celebrating.

What we believe

Three principles guide everything we do — from how we run the community to how we design each live event.

Radical honesty

We write to ourselves without filters — the fears, the dreams, the things we're afraid to say out loud. That honesty is where growth begins.

Time as a gift

A letter to your future self is an act of love across time. We believe in the power of pausing to witness your own becoming.

Community over isolation

Growth is sweeter when it's shared. This community exists so no one has to reflect alone — we celebrate each other's journeys.

You are already the person your past self was hoping you'd become
